THERMAL BELT RAIL TRAIL

Cardinal Tissue employees love the fact that the Thermal Belt Rail Trail is just a few steps away from our facility. The 13.5 paved greenway is perfect for biking, jogging and walking. The converted rail line was completed in 2019 with a 12-foot wide trail that connects the towns of Rutherfordton, Spindale and Forest City - with plenty to see along the way. Rent a bike from Grumpy’s, hop on the trail, and then stop for a bite to eat or local craft beer at some of our favorite restaurants. 

TRYON INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN CENTER

Located only 18 miles from Cardinal Tissue and host of the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games™, Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) is the ultimate international destination for all who love horses, shopping, dining and entertainmen. Visitors can watch a horse show and then grab dinner at one of the venue's wonderful restaurants. Legend's Grille is one of our personal favorites, and there are multiple dining and lodging options on site to choose from. Admission is free to the public.
